Conservatives = 43.5%. Labour = 32.4%. Liberal Democrats = 11%. SNP = 3.9%. Greens = 2.7%. Brexit Party = 2%
So 56.5% of the UK electorate didn't vote for Johnson, but 43.5% did - not a numerical majority as that would require at least 51% of the votes. However, as we are not just a 2 party nation, this figure is not needed, and as the nearest party to the Tories were 11% behind, then that can be viewed as a considerable win for Boris & Co?
I cant understand why people are bringing up the fact that they didn’t win with a total vote in excess of all other parties combined - accept the facts that this election has been run, and won, using the same voting process as all previous ones.
Ps - I voted Labour (not for Boris but for my local MP), I am a remainer, so have lost on both counts....however, unlike a lot of other losers I accept the democrat decision of the people as it is, and will move on......
