37% in the referendum was neither the 'will of the people' nor democracy.

I voted remain and would have more readily accepted the result of the referendum if it hadn't been for the lies and deception which brought if about, £350m/wk and 70m Turks poised to descend on the country to mention but two.

We know Brexit is really happening when Guy says so :) he says "The British people have confirmed their referendum decision of 2016"

Britain is the first EU member state not to suffer the ignominy of having to vote again and again until "the right" decision is made. With his sizable mandate we might even see Boris deliver a good future outcome.

Labour campaigned on a neutral Brexit stance. Their policy was to get a new deal and put that to a referendum, therefore there was an unknown amount of pro Brexit supporters who voted Labour who would never vote Conservative.

Conservatives = 43.5%.                                     Labour = 32.4%.                                                 Liberal Democrats = 11%.                                 SNP = 3.9%.                                                       Greens = 2.7%.                                                  Brexit Party = 2%

So 56.5% of the UK electorate didn't vote for Johnson, but 43.5% did - not a numerical majority as that would require at least 51% of the votes. However, as we are not just a 2 party nation, this figure is not needed, and as the nearest party to the Tories were 11% behind, then that can be viewed as a considerable win for Boris & Co?

I cant understand why people are bringing up the fact that they didn’t win with a total vote in excess of all other parties combined - accept the facts that this election has been run, and won, using the same voting process as all previous ones.

Ps - I voted Labour (not for Boris but for my local MP), I am a remainer, so have lost on both counts....however, unlike a lot of other losers I accept the democrat decision of the people as it is, and will move on......

Likewise Steve, I’m in the ‘other camp’ from a party point of view, voted remain but 100% back the democratic decision of 2016 and the democratic decision last Thursday. I can’t for the life of me understand the whinging and whining that’s gone on for over three years. Implement the 2016 decision, get it done with and move forward for the sake of the country and the people.

Let's hope Sanchez's cobbled together coalition holds this time.

How long has it been since we have had a working government in Spain?

And a little like the UK, wee bit up the northern side looking for independence and a bit of it in the recent past that were at war in the form of a parmiletary regime...... quite similar really 😉

I doubt that Sturgeon is envious Ray. Catalunya is a region of Spain whereas Scotland is a nation state in its own right with a Nationalist devolved government.

Well said Grahame 👍👍

All done and dusted for now, let’s all be positive and face up and deal with what lies ahead, as it’s not going to change!
