I need to get dog licence for my dog. It's on the dangerous dog list. I have all the relevant paperwork to present at the town hall. I have been told i have to do it in Orihuela. I was wondering if it's possible to do it at plays flamenca town hall on Orihuela costa. I live in plays flamenca.

Hi there

We had a dangerous dog and live in Villamartin, which is also classed as Orihuela Costa, and did our dangerous dog licence in Playa Flamenca Town Hall.

Good luck! It takes a long time to go through and many forms (most saying the same things in different orders), but the alternative - a big fine isn't on.

The guy at the Town Hall was very helpful to us.

Best wishes - sue

Hi Peter

If you are in Orihuela Costa you can get the forms from playa flamenco Town Hall. Sanidad 965 305 983 is the department. Good luck

Thank you very much, I will give them a call.

Do you then need to make an appointment to take completed forms back?

Regards

Peter

Sorry don't remember, but I think it would be a good idea.

You have to take with you a copy of your dangerous dog insurance policy, you have to have a test (mental and physical) that you're suitable to have a dangerous dog (you can get these at the centre where you have your checks for a Spanish driving licence) and a police check in Spain and the UK that you have no criminal record (the English version must be translated into Spanish by an authorised translator). I would also take photocopies of passport, nie, padron and I would take a few bills to verify your address.

Then the copious forms begin ... Good luck. You'll get there in the end, you just need patience.
