Hi Pete and Jp

Thanks for the advice you both gave.  For a long time I was in a dilemna about whether or not to withdraw from the purchase. Ultimately I decided to go ahead and I've made some great contacts thanks to this fantastic forum. I may regret it in the future if encounter more problems but I think I'd regret it if I cut my losses too. I'm  looking into transferring the remainder of the funds now.  At my lawyers direction I used Currencies Direct for the deposit.  However, their quote for the exchange rate today is 112 euro = £1. This is less than I thought and means I will be out of pocket by £2,000.  Another transfer company Smart Money quote 113 euro = £1 on line today.  This makes a big difference on a large amount. Could you let me know if  it is permissible to use 2 different currency companies please when purchasing a house?

Also do I have the money transferred to my lawyers a/c?  Although I believe  my lawyer did open an a/c with Sabadell bank in my name I don't seem to have details of it.  My lawyer has Power of Attorney.

Thanks again for your help.  Best Wishes.

Julie

Thanks very much Kim. I posted this before I received your email and thought I'd ask generally on here too. I don't want to put too much on you. Though I really do appreciate everything your doing.I

Thanks for getting that document translated, it's very reassuring that it's now in the vendors name. I emailed my lawyer suggesting that her rep meet me in the mas a hotel before going to the office of the Notary but she's hadn't replied, she was due back from holiday today. I also went on the Abaca lawyer site. What a contrast to my lawyer. I also wish I'd known about them and this site before. You in particular have been so helpful ☺
