Hi Everyone

A brown stain has appeared in my toilet bowl. Flushing just makes it worse.

I'd appreciate any advice please.

Julie

It sounds like limescale; there are various products available to remove it. HG (the specialised cleaning products provider) make a spray on cleaner, or a stronger gel, I think.

Dont be afraid of using an abrasive to shift the stain. Use limescale remover to soften as much as possible.

Try agua fuerte from your local ferreteria, but be careful as it is hydrochloric acid and don’t use on metal surfaces.

Andrew is correct.  The shop name for the product is Salfuman, it is hydrochloric acid and is available in many shops.  Flush the toilet then use the brush to push out as much water a possible.  Pour half the bottle into the pan and leave overnight - hold your breath.  Flush in the morning and it will be pristine!

Thank you all very much for your replies. The stain has lessened sure a bit probably due to my not being here for 3 months.

Trouble is I'm going back to the UK again tomorrow.

Thanks again.
