I think you will find it easer to join a group somewhere, maybe in a cafe or bar each week. That way you can join in and listen. These groups usually have a teacher who leads the group into simple conversations and things you may need everyday, like ordering food /drink and asking for items in shops etc.
Hopefully someone may know a group like that.

Yes there are spanish lessons in playa flaminca, once a week at superco,area upstairs, will be going myself, not sure what day it is, or when beginners start,

Sheila so funny, i went on wrong day, tuesday beginners and wednesday for intermediate. Of course i went on wednesday and felt like a martian ha ha. I will be back next TUESDAY 1.30 ha

Well, it gave you an idea of what you can achieve. All those people would have been beginners at some time. The bar is nice and friendly and it gives you a chance to meet other expats. Have fun!
