Called the British Embassy hopeless.ansaphones and full mail boxes and referrals to Government website!!

It is not the British Embassy you should contact but the Spanish Embassy in London. Spain is a sovereign country and they decide who can come in and who can’t.

Thanks for your reply,we think so.Buthave the Spanish Government defined what these essential family reasons are,if not why not.Surelelt selling a property and buying another is a very important family reading? The Spanish local and national Governments certainly will get  alot of tax from u...

Hello I have a residency letter, but my partner doesn’t, I found the

information very confusing but as my partner wants to get his residency

I was told that he would need to have a long term visa if he intends too stay

longer than the 90 days,  he will have too apply online for this and travel to

the Spanish Consulate in London too collect it in person and pay for it

As well, but it is not easy too do as I’m trying too do it for him ?

Maybe it is beginning to hit home that Brexit changes the rights of U.K. citizens to live in Spain. Certainly, the pandemic has made matters much worse but I’m amazed at the number of “non-resident” 😉 ex-pats who voted to Leave and are now moaning that their tax-free lifestyle has come to an end. For those that did, may I ask a question, can anyone give me a single benefit gained by Brexit? Answers on the back of a stamp to.....

Not everyone in the UK voted to leave, we are just stuck with the decision.

At the moment that isn’t on the list of permitted reasons to enter Spain. Keep your eyes on the gov uk site for any updates.

Thank you. I didn't think so, I was just hoping I had missed something.

I don’t think anyone knew what they were signing up too ? I think most people

We’re only concerned about our borders even though most of us are not

Racist we never understood all the implications of Brexit wether you were living

In Spain or not ?

The Spanish Government do not make it clear that this is an essential reason to travel from UK yo buy, sell houses. We have been advised not to chance it as will be open the interpretation by border control officers.Very expensive Covid tests required as well. Our estate agent has said getting a letter from the Notary should be enough but we do not think do.Our sale is set to complete on 16 June but we may have delay until we can travel. We will not complete sell unless we are there. No chance to view any houses yet and only do much you can decide digitally. Spain is a mess with 17 Autonomous Regions with their own rules as Central Gov  Sanchez have devolved responsibility. From anything goes in Madrid to not leaving or entering regions, curfews etc?!Their rules could change overnight.Just hope the Tourism lobby push hard enough there i to get us back.Good luck with getting to you new apartment. We will see what Boris says tomorrow re yet more new rules for International travel??!

I was touring in France, Spain and Portugal and we had no problems with borders when we can over in July 2020 after the first lockdown, but as we were in Spain and

I kept hearing that if you were in Spain longer than three months that you had to get residency ? So I applied for it in October, the agent that was doing it for me said

That she had managed too get residency for people living in camper van parks ?

I had to rent a property to be able to get on the Padron etc I went back to The Uk

For Xmas and have been stuck here ever since so I have had my jabs before I go Back too Spain ? My partner had to go back too the Uk in November due to a family

Illness is now due to come back too Spain with me in May I will let you all know

How I get on with getting his long term Visa ?

I have English neighbours in Spain who vehemently supported Brexit and flew the  Union flag from their property. I honestly don’t get it.
