Hi Ned,

I did not offer to provide such a list, although it would be possible to do so, just as others will offer to compile and equal but opposite list.  That is debating! However, many of the posters on this forum, quite reasonably, see the issue from their own point of view but there is a much wi...

...der issue which impacts many more people than just those of us living in Spain.  Most (or many at least) of us over here are passed our best days of life in terms of time and it may well be doubtful that we will see much benefit in the short term. Looking at it from my grandchildren's point of view, I see they will become the benefactors and for this, I am really very content.  I have grown up and lived through a massive amount of unwanted and unhelpful, plus costly, interference from unelected people in Brussels and I am glad the younger ones will avoid that.

In any case, I doubt this forum wishes us to start a further debate on a dead subject because its done, so whoever we are, we have to navigate the future and stop moaning about the past.  I hope you will look forward also.

NB I voted remain because I didn't really want the hassle of living through the adjustment of BREXIT but I was being selfish by so doing.

But you did say that you were aware of the many advantages and as many aren't it might be helpful to them if they were listed.

Hi Andy,

Can you provide a list of the "many advantages of BREXIT" please? Lots of people aren't clear about them as is evident in most of the many threads that touch on the subject.

Thanks

Exactly,  there are absolutely none!

They weren’t unelected. All areas of the UK elect MEPs to serve in the European Parliament . Have you not forgotten that  the vile Farage was one, only he chose never to be there to represent the people who elected him. Your children and grandchildren have lost their freedoms of living , working and being educated in Europe, unlike you who chose the freedom of living in Spain with all your medical and pension benefits. They don’t have that freedom now. See my photo post to see what has been lost and the myths that were put about about the EU making all our laws without us having a say. All countries in the EU were and still are sovereign countries, just like we were. We made our own laws as every other European country does.

Really helpful thank you and I have asked our Abogado regarding a letter and our estate agent selling our house says he will get a certificate from the Notary.

From the information from the British Consulate in Alicante told me, only the Spanish Authorities can give authorisation to travel to Spain for essential reasons and that can take weeks. Itss been reported that a plane load of brits from Manchester arrived in Alicante last week and were put straight back on the plane because they said that buying or selling a property in Spain is not a essential reason to travel.

Thank you. So many versions of what the Spanish entry requirements are, what a mess eh??!

Well we will just have to be patient and wait until Spain and the UK respective Governments decide when we can travel and can make it absolutely clear. How the travel industry ,aviation and economies will recover from this is anyones guess! Big talk tonight from Boris Johnson of vaccine passports ,certificates, Covid test kits for all to do anything in the future and no guarantee that the 17 May will be the day when we can travel Internationally. But he has said that next week he is going to the Pub!! Even though over 31 million here have received vaccine it seems goal posts moving again for all.

Sheila,

We did not elect the top people however and just look at the useless waste of rations currently in charge of the EU!. So the key players are unelected by the population they are supposedly serving.  The minions serve minimal purpose except to take huge salaries and high levels of expenses. You seem to have a deep seated dislike of some of those people you name but it is a shame you seem to have such a limited viewpoint of the overall picture and prefer to quote common misconceptions.  For example, if you believe healthcare in Spain is good, then I can assure you that you are seriously mistaken, based on from my unfortunate but considerable experience of it and that of my late wife, who was so mistreated it is a scandal. Yes I am opinionated in this subject but with first hand extensive experience of it, none of which has been good.

However, I have said once already on this Forum topic and this is the last time - this is not the correct place to be debating these opinions and I will not be responding to further blinkered viewpoints.

I wish you good evening.

Hi Andy,

Shame you have gone off debating. From your previous posts I thought you were keen and might eventually provide the list of BREXIT bonuses you alluded to.

Would also be useful to hear how your Spanish healthcare comments relate to the issues raised by sheilaheggarty in her post that you responded to.

Regards
