You were giving an opinion, why can’t everyone else?! This is an open forum !

Everyone seem to want to add nastiness, there's no need for it.

Was it not always the rule in Spain that if you stay over 90 days you had to apply for residency?

(Sigh...)

Did you miss the "semi-retire" bit of my comment?

The plan was to move over, gain permanent residency & come back to the UK for 3 or 4 months a year to do just enough consultancy work to keep us in pain, vino tinto, queso y jamon.

But that's no longer an option, is it?

Because we now need to stick 35k in our Spanish bank account & leave it untouched for 12 months & show proof of private health insurance which, for a couple in their early 50s is averaging about £400 a month.

So forgive me if I'm less than complimentary to anyone on here (or anywhere else) who is living out their dream life in the sun whilst simultaneously having the temerity to try & lecture me about "will of the people" & how "great everything's going to be for the UK now."

As I said...morons.

My heart bleeds for you it really does. Even the starving children and poorest people in the world feel your pain that you can't retire early and live half your year in the sun 😔 I'm sure if the people had voted leave they would have changed their vote after hearing your story. I really hope you find happiness having a job and money to own 2 properties as I'm sure the thousands who have lost their lives and jobs/businesses from Covid are too.

Funny, don't remember asking for your opinion 🤔🤫 I was just highlighting that there is no need to bring up Brexit. This is to do with the Covid pandemic. The 90/180 rule some people are up in arms about has always been the rule in Spain 🤷‍♀️ Lets just keep it for helpful comments.

When you post on an open forum, it’s open to every opinion; you will get responses that you like and those that you dislike.

You seem to be labouring under the misapprehension that I am in some way seeking your sympathy.

I am not.

I am, however, still seething that we are being denied the right to see out our days in our Spanish home because several million racist idiots, who didn't have the first clue about what the EU is or does, decided to shaft us (& many thousands like us.)

So when I read absolute guff on sites like this, it annoys me.

Hence my comments.

Oh here we go again 🙄 Can you not see how self righteous you really are. Nobody cares about whether you can fulfill your dream, most people can't so be grateful for what you have got. We don't need to hear you whingeing and moaning, start your own discussion with that title 'whingeing'. Like I said before, even without Brexit you were only supposed to be staying in Spain for 90 days before you have to apply for residency, so if its that you were planning on breaking the Spanish immigration laws to start with i really have even less sympathy for you. Cheer up!

Can you actually read?

I'm sensing not.

Go and find a grown-up to read what I've actually written in my replies to you & you might actually understand what's going on. (For a change.)

You had 5 years to sort out residency, you should have got a grown up to deal with it for you 🤷‍♀️
