Thanks Lorraine

After 2 weeks silence, we got an email today from RYR suggesting we could get free flight changes by contacting customer services. Did this immediately, eventually got answer on t phone, went through all the 20'questions, then was told that new flights had to be exactly the same time span apart as original 2, even if we had to pay more money for them! Beats me what difference it makes to RYR,whether the 2 new flights are 4 weeks apart, or 4 days like the originals were? Waiting to hear from customer services manager asap.
Maybe it's just a bad dream and I'll wake up from this, I wish!
Good luck to those waiting for refunds.
Cheers. Ray

Hi all, news from the front!
Anyone hoping to get a free flight change from RYR, or possibly any of the other flight operators, be careful, you might not get what you imagined. I had had to ask several times to get RYR to action a"free flight change" but when it came to be, I was rudely awakened. There are no free lunches! When we got down to the nitty gritty over the phone, it soon transpired that you stand a more than average chance of having to pay for the privilege of booking new flights. The way it works is that your original flight prices are held up against the cost of the new flights, both out and back, and whichever is higher, wins. You would have to be very careful to secure new flights at the same overall cost as the old ones.
So don't worry that the new flights looked cheaper, if your original flights cost more, they win. If the new flights are dearer, they win, and you will have to cough up the extra.
Either way Ryanair wins, and it's worth doing the sums first before starting the process. It is very likely that the cheapest way is to swallow your pain and forget the original booking cost, and the "free" flight change, and just make new bookings online.
In a time of world wide suffering, some big businesses see it only as an opportunity to use us, without conscience.
At the same time, RYR do most of the time provide the cheapest reliable flights for me anyway, and in our experience the cabin service is faultless, even if the catering prices are as eye watering as the other airlines'
Be careful out there, its dog eat dog, and BTW, keep well.
Ray

Hi Lee, that's good news, can I ask if your flight change was due to EJet changing something or other? I bought a flight from them yesterday and I noticed that there are fees if we choose to cancel or change things.
Regards. Ray
I've rebooked twice with Ryanair, first time the price was the same. Next time it was higher, but if I rebooked within the time frame (2/5 - 6/6) I could change flights without extra costs.
This was from Denmark to Spain.
