Thanks for your reply Donal.

Yes we have a Samsung smart TV.   So what cost and what exactly do you receive for that?

Hi,

We are a registered company that have offered television services locally for 11 years.

There are apps available for some smart TV's including Samsung & LG - the official or best app to use is the    MINISTRA app as this is compatible with most middleware providers & is available in the Samsung / LG stores (assuming your model is compatible).

IPTV services are variable, as performance wise can be over shared leading to poor performance. Plenty of resellers - 'here today & gone tomorrow' offering services from the internet, they have no control over.

Both Amazon Firesticks & Android boxes, whilst do work, there are a few things you should probably be aware of, as many will give glowing reports (those selling), though sometimes the reality can be a little different.

The link to the article below covers 'everything you need to know' about receiving UK TV in Spain - all systems, services, the good bad & the ugly ;-)

WOW! How quickly that descended into chaos?! I am really not feeling the love!

Jim and others are right, there are lots of topics that have most likely been covered many times and new folk are likely to be a little lazy and just post again (like I was probably guilty of in the early days)

There is a perfectly good search bar located on the top right in the forum. This usually helps.

Not sure if anyone answered this question or not, so I will have a go!

If you look down the right hand side you will see advertisers who have spent good money to capture your attention and guide you towards buying their wares.

There are legitimate satellite companies available as well as Internet Service Providers offering their own TV packages.

Alternatively, Google and YouTube is your friend. Simple enough search to follow.

There is also IPTV. Most folk who do not want to fork out a load of money go for this option. You need to purchase an android box (Firestick and FireTV work perfectly well too) then you subscribe to a provider, typically for 12M and the cost is in the region of £90 for a year, which includes movies and box sets.

There is a final option of getting a SmartDNS (google smartdnsproxy) and this will make your router or device convinve the UK TV catchup players like BBC iPlayer and ITV Hub  think you are in the UK (yes, its a little more sophisticated than that, but for now... lets go with it!)

IF you need anything furher I more than happy to offer you advie over the forum, you can PM me if you prefer. I am not a reseller, hoster etc, I just like to help. So...

I hope it helps!

Uk Handyman - Not sure where the chaos is, but personally having worked in a legal telcomms company testing equipment, employed to do so for 10 + years & having a few thousand people linked to us on social media for advice & known locally established for years - I would respectfully suggest that my advice, which I get paid to research for a living & spent hours testing this equipment & services, may actually be more accurate, than a 'UK handyman for hire' ?

When you deal with a few thousand customers and review their support and feedback, it's my job to know! There is far more to understanding to this than people realise - and whilst 'google is your friend', it is also a source of confusion if you don't actually know what is best to look for. A considerable percentage of our work is dealing with customers misadvised or missold equipment / services.

All of the accurate information regarding all of the UK TV services in Spain, was shown on the link in my post link, including information on Satellite, IPTV, different hardware, firesticks and VPN's https://www.televisiontechnology.eu/uktv-in-spain

Hi Paul

In terms of 'Chaos' I was referring to the quick exchange of unpleasantries between the first few posters, why would you think my comments are directed at you? I was in no way challenging your advice.

As for judging me based on a forum username, I would prefer it if you didn't as this does not reflect to you the vast knowledge base I have gained over my 31 years of employment in Electrical, Electronic and Instrumentation Engineering, Building Services and Engineering Consultancy, which is varied and has taken me globally along with the countless academic qualifications and professional positions I hold.

As for your final point on the information post, this is extremely useful and should perhaps be turned in to a guide, to make easier reference for everyone.

Not everyone knows how to use the search function without being advised of it. Not every forum has this helpful tool. Not long since I was a newbie in that position.

UK Handy Man:

Public apology - thought you were referring to my post, which is why I was confused!

Your point about our information to be turned into a guide - that is actually something we have and seek to continually update and add information to - but of course, this is on our website.

We have a 'general help guide' which is split into various sections, for those who already have Satellite/TV/IPTV equipment and need help. There are sections for various items, if anyone wants to suggest anything else which they feel would be of general help, we always happy to add / review.  https://www.televisiontechnology.eu/help

The other guide which we felt appropriate - is the 'everything you need to know in Spain, regarding TV' - this is because so often people are confused given so much different advice, that we felt an idea to go through what you can get locally & explain the 'pros & cons' as we find many people are missold or misadvised or just generally confused! So we've tried to pull all the information together  - no harm in a little homework before spending your pennies/centimos ;-).  https://www.televisiontechnology.eu/uktv-in-spain
