Yeah don’t bother with their CHAT, all a smokescreen I’m beginning to think.

I’ve gone straight to PayPal now and lodged a case/complaint against Ryanair

and their sharp practice! OK I get that their Probrably struggling big time with

all of this but why go from a Refund scenario to a Voucher one?

I don’t want a poxy voucher towards a dearer flight thank you.

Also as a add on I noted their was a warning on the PayPal site from Ryanair

not to lodge a case with PayPal but to contact them directly via CHAT etc.Guess that’s me blacklisted then ! Not entirely sure if PayPal will resolve my issue but

at least they know what a bunch of gangsters RA are if they didn’t know already.

Think we’ve reached a new low with Mr O’Leary but some of us just have to roll with it for now.

Before the crisis really kicked off here I had issues with Easyjet,Arriva bus co and Airbnb. All ended up refunding me so I guess in the end I didn’t fare too badly.

So far RA owe me around £200 and I have another flight with them in late June which I booked yonks ago and that as of now is still due to take off all be it 7 hours later than advertised! Wonder if it will take off?

Oh well sun is out, 🍻 time here in PF!

Cheers everybody

John

As per everybody else:refund email and ref number now changed to claim voucher(which I haven't) and after holding on for live chat for 1hr,gave up.

Will still hold out for refund as have already rebooked two flights so will wait for money.

Did see article last week advising that you could get your money back by opening a small court claims against them for £80 which stated it would end in your favour as it was an illegal action to withhold your money and you would also get the £80 back.

Also waiting for Easyjet refund, but at least they are letting you rebook your flight anytime with no additional cost involved! so just waiting for the flights to resume before booking.

Best of luck to all and keep safe and sane.

At last, someone who actually reads their mails. Hope all the others on here do the same before they start complaining.

Sorry to say, but you have been lulled into false hopes. I also completed this form some time ago, and received a confirmation email. However they have subsequently sent......a voucher confirmation and within the script is a "click here" if you want a refund instead......and so off you go on another Merry dance. O,Leary has no intention of refunding anyone's ticket if he can get away with it. His track record says it all... sorry but that's the reality.

A lot has changed between March 21st and today, what was relevant then is not relevant now and there have been various posts about this particular topic and the moving goalposts.

Ah yes a lot has changed but to be told your getting a refund then a poxy voucher, that’s not really good customer relations is it? Not that it ever bothers that wily Rogue O’Leary. I’m in this now for the long haul, I know I’m due refunds cos RA cancelled not me! As ever devil is in the detail!

Adios for now! John

We’ve had the same carry on with this and have now moved to the next step declining the vouchers and requesting refund. Did it through Facebook messenger. If you click to write a Direct message to Ryanair it brings up another automated script to select a refund from. They say refund will take some time. I’m not optimistic but worth a try. Next step will be contacting my credit card provider for assistance.

Same runaround as everyone else. Can't use the claim form again because it's been used against this booking already for unwanted voucher. Can't get through on phone or chat. So sent registered letter to RA HQ today demanding a refund or I'll proceed with litigation. But here's a thought about Ryanair. It's widely accepted that O'Leary is untrustworthy but where is the Chairman and Board of Directors accountability in this. One of the key functions of any Board is to ensure that the company they are governing acts within the law at all times. It seems the RA Board are turning a Nelsonian eye to this debacle.

Thanks and I'll look at this. Agree that Ryanair seem to be an outlier. Easyjet bit tricky but not overtly playing games and BA....I phoned, got straight through and requested refund. Told 10-14 days.

Many thanks and very interesting reading.

Have just followed your lead and also filled out the form and lodged my case with Ryanair via resolver, it can't fail to add weight

to a request for a refund and cannot fail, but won't hold my breath as to how long it will take, but good knowing that we've done something positive.

Many thanks once again.

Bob

...o a form which takes 2 minutes to fill in and Hey Presto, refund on the way.

This evening wife received Email from our first cancelled flight Easter stating she has Been sent a voucher valid for 12 months(she requested cash refund not voucher) if she does not use the voucher in 12 months she will get a cash refund sent to her. So anyone expecting cash will have to wait 12 months.not sure if this is legal have to wait and see.
