I needed a PCR test to fly to Spain. Booked through the East Mids Airport site and carried out as a drive-through on site. Randox at £60 for a 24 hour turnaround. Came through in less than that (16 hours).

Antigen test
35€ per person

Just returned from Alicante to LHR. Prebooked before we left U.K. Had fit to fly lateral flow tests done at home 2-3 days before flight home on a live zoom call which I can’t rate highly enough. This was with Breathe Assured. Results on the 30 min call emailed while you are on the call. Must book the appointment in advance though. Day 2 tests in U.K. done with Randox at home kits, but I wouldn’t recommend as you have to take them to one of their drop boxes which are not near us and involved an hour drive to get there. Also, we got a discount for both tests on BA website if you are flying BA.
I would urge caution with the Randox pre-travel kits to enter Spain as we didn’t realise that it was quite so difficult to drop the tests off and that they might not be available in time so we panicked and had to pay for additional ‘in person’ tests locally. These were also pretty traumatic for our 2 teenagers as results took a while (emailed at 21:55 night before our flight!).
Departing LHR and arriving at Valencia the certificates were checked. Departing Alicante only vaccines and pre-travel PCR (and locator forms) were checked at check in. NOTHING was looked at when arriving at LHR! So no one even looked at our fit to fly lateral flow test results!

Hi, we were the same at Glasgow.
The reason they don’t check when you arrive in the UK is that the airline you are flying with has the responsibility of checking and ensuring that you are fit to fly and have the appropriate paperwork before boarding the plane.

Hi Alex
We have just returned from Formentera del Segura. I ordered our tests from Co-op Pharmacy on line. https://www.cooppharmacy.coop/products/pharmacy/covid-19-test-kits-for-travel/ and took them with us to test 3 days before returning home. Very easy to use. We have to order our Day 2 test via Gov website and it was here when we arrived home to Scotland. We do this today.
Hope this is helpful
Regards

Hi
We took a picture of the result along with a passport picture and sent it to them via link. The certificate was e mailed to us within an hour or so. Just took a screen shot to show at airport. We also had to show confirmation that Day 2 test was booked, the confirmation number is added to passenger location form which I also screen shot.

Thanks to Scots Lass for confirming our understanding of the complex rigmarole that has sprung up over the procedures required for legitimate travel between Scotland & Spain.
We have found a nice clinic in our Santa Pola Base that will do the pre-departure LFT for 29 Euros each including a printed certificate, so this is sorted....

We have also sussed out the online drill for ordering up the Day 2 "welcome home" PCR kits to be sent to our Scottish address, by the NHS, but stage managed by a mysterious company described as CTM, who have somehow muscled in on the act, exclusively for we who live north of the border.
For this unique privilege we will have to pay £88 each, day before departure, to the said CTM, who then allegedly send some of this money to the Scottish NHS, for the actual test kits.
We were offered the Randox kits by our carriers, Ryanair, for a much lower price, but we are warned on the Scottish government website that anyone caught trying to sidestep the Scottish government allies (aka CTM), could face a penalty of £500 each, so we feel safer, but 'scunnered' by compliance with this blatant commercial blackmail. To the best of my knowledge Boris is not involved in this dodgy deal.
Looking forward to arriving in Santa Pola next week, best wishes to our fellow CBF members.
Hi ray!! Where is the clinic you are getting an antigen test ?
Dave
