They are also recommending for the family members to go to the pharmacy and purchase covid test kits to reduce tramsmissions during this festive period.

Why is this Xmas any different to last year which was the worst with much higher figs ? I'm bewildered why they are doing all this as the hospitals don't have many cases. They should think about changing other things first rather than this stupid passport idea

You do not see them as they have it at home not in a restaurant..

Thats exactly what I said which is why these silly passports only affect the foreigners who start going out beginning of Dec for groups and friends

Of course Spanish families go out to socialise in local bars and restaurants, but they don't go out until much later at night, when the average "foreigners" are probably tucked up in bed.

Again that's not what I said. They do not go out especially for Xmas the same way we do. I think I am banging my head against the wall here as you are all missing my point. They cannot go out late now.  The hours have changed and I am 69 and certainly not tucked up in bed until at least 1.30

...

Discotheques are still open to all hours of the night.. The bar below my terrace is open until 3am everyday..

Yes, Spanish and pretty much everyone else except the English would rather spend family time at home then with a bunch of strangers in a bar, cafeteria or restaurant...

They also do not have a made up holiday the day after christmas and in most cases are back to work on the 26th.

I can only imagine that if the vaccination lessens the effects of the plague on anyone infected, fewer of those infected will be hospitalised. This in turn will mean that there will be more capacity for those who are ill with other ailments.

It won't stop you getting it and it won't stop you infecting others. ...

...

It was only a couple of weeks ago that in my area that of all the people getting treated in hospital with the virus 75% were not vaccinated, says it all really

What's the relevance 9f "one who hasn't had the jab"?

These "jabs" don't stop you catching the plague, or passing it to someone else.

But they reduce the probability

It is less likely that you will become seriously ill, be hospitised, or die if you are fully vaccinated.

And less likely to be infected or pass it on.

Having the jab( vaccination) doesn’t stop you getting covid or passing it on! But it is designed to help you fight it off and to stop us taking up hospital places.

It reduces the chances of getting infected and transmitting.
