Can I respectfully ask one question of you all, remain or leave voters.?

What other system do you suggest we adopt to replace the democratic system we currently abide by? The system that we have adopted for well over a century? The system that selects our governments and our referendum decisions?

Communism ? Fascism? Shall we adopt a authoritarian  approach?

I really am at a loss to understand why a democratic decision has to be argued and moaned about. The result wasn’t what we ALL wanted, myself included….. but if you want to walk down a path where you wish to undermine a democratic voice then you are indeed walking down a very dangerous path with consequences you can’t even begin to imagine. Maybe the Russian model is what you crave? Well maybe it is for you but not for many of us.

Smell the roses you’ve got instead of being a constant negative voice in the quagmire that discontent fosters, life is really too short for this nonsense.

Are you therefore implying that once any Government is elected that the will of the people should never be challenged and we should stick with what we decided for all time?

Of course not. But I do believe once a democratic decision is reached it is in one’s interest to abide by the decision, anything else is anocracy and in the interests of no one.

Agreed but that does not mean it should not be challenged and those opposed should not be allowed to work towards getting a decision overturned or reversed. That is what democracy is about.

The problem comes from a referendum that ended up being in or out without any chance of changing the decision at a later date. The problem was the lies and Russian interference and money to influence the result. The problem was and continues to be no discernible benefits.I believe in democracy,I feel democracy is broken in the UK with first past the post,it’s not fit for the 21st century.I feel we need a form of proportional representation to give better representation to our people rather than just a Labour or Conservative government. The present system doesn’t work well anymore and doesn’t truly represent the people. And while we’re at it we need a proper written constitution and I’d finish with the monarchy.Thank you.

Proportional representation also is deficient, as in the system in the Republic of Ireland. Just look at the current government there just now, a fix up of 3 parties……….. all pigs of different breeds trotting through a field but when it comes to it all their dirty snouts in the same trough feeding of the toil of the people.

Politics are aptly named, poly meany many, and tics meaning blood sucking parasites…….

Life is too short to bear a grievance against your fellow men, get out there and live.

We are abiding by it - we have no choice - we would simply like to know what benefits have been achieved from Brexit?  Instead of answering the question, the Leave voters dismiss us with their childish "remoaners" insult.  So I'll let you in on a little secret - we know the reason that Leave voters can't answer the question..... 😉

Kind regards,

Kim

Exactly Kimmy, like you I will also abide by the decision, I’ll make it work either way. The decision is made, it’s done, dusted and decided a long time ago and here we are 5 years later still trying to see if the dealer would “deal again” to see if the hand can be played over….. not going to happen, and on that note I wholeheartedly agree. Any other outcome undermines and drives a horse & carriage through the democratic system we use & while not perfect it’s the best we have.
