Surprisingly enough, the bigger one of the 2 actually had a small flashing blue light on the side... Not kidding you.
By the way, how many of you spotted the lights, looked like aircrafts kinda, on Monday night at round about 10'ish, going over Benidorm?? +_28 of them...
This might be the answer to the lights over Benidorm.

The police, ayuntamiento and myself are under the authorisation of AESA to use drones commercially. The police have no special powers to use drones at random. We all must follow AESA operational procedures. Filing permission for special operations.
Benidorm local police are the registered operator. The big drone they use is the HYBRIX 2, petrol powered drone with a flight time of 2.5 hours. The drone is registered with AESA for special operations. Its equipped with parachutes, strobe lights and transponders making it safe to use near urban areas and visible to other aircraft.
In addition the Benidorm Police have an extra 14 page operations manual on where the drone can be deployed.
Can it see inside your house. Possibly it has a 30x zoom camera. The problem with trying to see through a window is reflection and lighting. Point a drone at a building and the windows come out as black squares unless theres a lot of light inside the room.
Can a standard drone spy on you while sunbathing in the garden? Not really at 20m on a 4k camera people are just people shapes. You would have go go in closer than 10m to identify a person.
Can the HYBRIX drone find a cannabis farm? Yes. Its equipped with a thermal camera.
I would guess the police were using the drone to check the beach for people. Hovering at 120m the 30x zoom lens can see for about 2km.

Great post, Alicante Design! Although I'm slightly disappointed to hear that, when I'm sunbathing, butt-naked, they probably can't detect me offering my opinion in sign language! 🤣🤣🤣

May I ask how you knew they were police drones? (without sounding like a t0sser... did they have livery to suggest they were the police?)
My point is there are very strict codes of practice in place for the use of drones and if they are 'private' drones you have the ability to make formal complaints. Google is your friend.
That said, how you control the use of private drones is very hit and miss.
