Hi Jacks,

CAB Spain has been known to have less than current information on their website.  You're probably better off checking out Jim Taylor's guides on this forum - there are many of them, but for your specific query, I'd recommend the sections on Residency and also Brexit implications:

Jim's guides - your complete guide to Spain 

It's worth noting that recent feedback on this forum suggests there has been some inconsistency in how police stations have been applying the rules, but Jim's guides reflect what should be required.
