Hello everyone, regular visitor first post.  Thought I’d chip in as I am in the middle of this process.  The translator has advised the following:

My private pension is paid into a UK account so they aren’t interested in this. I’ve no idea how much Pension would be acceptable.

Alternatively they will accept €9000 in a Spanish account.  As a couple €14000 is acceptable.  This amount has to be in the account for three month before the application. Needs to be proved by producing statements stamped by the bank for authenticity and obtained within 7 days prior to appointment. We called into Sabaddell and the assistant printed these out and stamped them without charge(very surprising)

Private healthcare needs to be in place and paid in advance for 12 months.  We are not state pensioners yet so presumably this is different if you have a sip etc.  We were advised to delay this until we had the TIE appointment so almost the full year was in place.  All the forms were filled out last February.  We then  contacted them and received all documentation within two days. They have provided a certificate stating we meet residencia requirements and proof of payment, plus the policies.  All of which are required in duplicate for the application.

A temporary Padron is also required, which we obtained with relatively little fuss from the office in playa Flamenca via the online appointment system.

Passports, NIE, marriage certificate (sometimes asked for)and two passport photos, plus copies of all of the above.

We have an appointment on Friday at the foreign office in Alicante.  They will then advise yes or no within a month. Then we go back, not sure where yet, for fingerprints as the TIE card is biometric.  They then issue the card.  Simples

This is what I have been advised anyway.  We’ll see on Friday

Not a smart  smug arsed reply. When folks are giving info and you do not believe it and question you in a certain tone .then why should then give more advice.

The only way to comfirm what gets said in any forum is to do the research yourself.

Some ppl  are too lazy to do this themselves. If they were truly interested in residency after brexit , on such an important matter   then you would take any info on here ,like a pinch of "old salt" . Jims guide apart. The only real knowledge is from cab spain.or solicitor  .

Hi Cjohnso1,

"Plus S1 forms from U.K. Gov , plus (12) months Private Health Insurance at the top level......"

State pensioners with an S1 do not need private health insurance as well.  People like me, who are early retirees, not yet pensionable age, need to have PHI, as we don't yet qualify for an S1.

Kind regards,

Kim

It is still €9000

9000 is not true, fiction,R H is wrong, all you need is 850 per month per person and proof that that amount is guaranteed,ie uk property rental income or a pension statement/payslip etc, good luck.

Hi Oldsalt,

I don't know whether you've seen this thread:

Online TIE applications

but I hope to hear confirmation later this afternoon of whether there has been an official change in the financial requirements.  I'll update the thread once I know.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi apache999,

Given that you've posted 3 replies to a thread that is more than a year old, one might wonder about your own state of inebriation!

The financials for Spanish residency required of UK citizens, as quoted in this old thread, are now irrelevant.  Since Brexit, UK citizens have to apply for a visa to live in Spain, for which the financial requirements are significantly higher than when the UK was a member of the EU.

Regards,

Kim

Really did you fall out of somewhere the wrong side out, it is difficult for people to find their way around, they need reassurance they are doing the right thing. I feel that "smug arsed" could apply elsewhere
