Hello

I have used autoclick a few times and they were very good all round.

Last time tried wiber and they were very good too.

Both at Alicante and off the airport

Nick,

I have to say the best rental company I've found through about 20 hires at Alicante over the last couple of years has been Enterprise. The problem of course is that they are a long way from being the cheapest but I've found with forward planning and booking/paying in advance from the UK its about as stress free as it gets and that was important to me after being ripped off by shady rental outfits in the past. Like all of them they will try and "upsell" but not in the heavy handed way the cheaper outfits try it on. Get yourself an excess policy cheap in the UK and you can simply not worry about the scaremongering. I've never had a problem with Enterprise in the many rentals I've had and no mysterious deductions afterwards.

The only problem...and it could be a big one depending on your needs: Annoyingly Enterprise moved out of the Alicante airport site last year for some inexplicable reason, so you have to take the (C7?) very low cost transit bus to the downtown Alicante Train station to get to the Enterprise desk. Not really too much of an issue once you get used to it.

Im sure this is a very common subject!

We have been coming to Spain for 15 years and have in the past used the majority of the car hire companies from Alicante and Valencia Airports.

We visited Spain last month and have yet again incurred undue fuel costs from the car hire company, i will just call them "C" for now!

We hired the car from "C" with a fuel policy of "Full to Full".

When we picked up the car on the 25/03/18 we took a photo of the fuel gauge as it was only 3/4 full (photograph evidence), when we returned the car an employee of "C" looked at the fuel gauge and could clearly see it was indeed now full (more than it was on pick up). We filled the car with fuel just outside of Alicante Airport on our return to drop off the car. (We always try to find an employee to physically look over the car while we are there to identify any damage etc;) She seemed happy by the way!

We were then charged for more fuel again and also a re-fuelling charge to rub it in!

We have been through these similar situations time and time again with car hire companies and want to be confident with a trustworthy            company without going through this procedure of trying to reclaim money that has wrongfully been taken from our account every other time we hire a car.

Any recommendations of a trustworthy car hire company by anyone out there would be much appreciated!

Thanks all

Nick.

It makes my blood boil, there car hire firms are in the most, rip-off merchants, that is being nice.

They all need to be investigated, that said;

I use a company called florida hire. They are a family company based in La Nucia at the back of Benidorm. they offer a brilliant service and will pick you up and drop you off at Alicante Airport for just 30 euros both ways any time day or night !.

They do NOT charge a fee to you card or put a block on it for a security deposit, however they do take your card details incase you have an accident and have to pay towards an accident which is around 600 euros.

The Guy I deal with is called Joaquin,

We have used a number of hire companies over the last few years.

Most of them have been the larger more well known ones.

We have initially found them to be competitive in price but always have ended up paying much more for petrol , admin charge etc etc

The last company we used met us at Murcia Airport and we had to fly home 3 weeks later from Alicante , which was no problem for them.

We payed the price that was quoted- a much smaller holding deposit and payed only for the fuel we used- no extras .

Needless to say we will be using them all of the time from now on.

There web address is

www.easy options.com.       They are based in Playa Flamenco and are a totally

honest company.

Hope this helps

Patr

Thanks pat that really helpful

We recommend Edirentacar.com  No waiting around at the airport and absolutely no hidden 'extras' - what they quote is what you pay.  We have used them for years at Alicante airport.  Family run business and fully bi-lingual.

Had a look at their website and may well try them for our next trip in September (we have used Centauro before, without any huge issues - and they are cheap if you don't take their insurance, but would prefer to use a local company).
