Hi,
It would be advisable to get an NIE number now, if not, one would need to be obtained by you if you are the survivor.
If you predecease him, then the reserve beneficiaries within his Will need to obtain NIE numbers at that time and, potentially each provide a Power of Attorney to an abogado for them to arrange probate and distribute the estate according to the instructions within the Spanish Will (assuming the reserve beneficiaries do not speak sufficiently proficient Spanish to undertake that process themselves). This can of course, depending on the fees of the specific abogado, be an expensive process.
This process of probate will also be required to be undertaken on the first and second deaths btw.
We can help in all these aspects and significantly reduce potential fees and hassle. If you would like a free telephone consultation with me, just call my team on 865 756 058 and I can go through with you what the requirements are and your options also.
Kind regards
Paul
