If you are receiving UK government pension you will be entitled to healthcare through the S1 healthcare cover. When you are registered with the INSS you will receive a SIP Card. Your doctor will give you a prescription for your meds.
If you are with private healthcare then your doctor can give you a prescription. You will pay the full price of the medicines.

Hi
To add to what Steve said - if you're not entitled to healthcare, well pretty much every drug can be bought at the pharmacy without a prescription - some are very cheap and some are very expensive!

If you have not been registered as a resident in Spain or other EU country before the end of December 2020 you will not be entitled to form S1 assuming you are in receipt of UK State Pension or other qualifying disability benefit. The following link may be useful:

That is incorrect John123456 .....
If you are in receipt of a UK government pension and a legal resident in Spain you can still apply for the S1 healthcare forms as stated in the link you provided. It states...."You may be entitled to state healthcare paid for by the UK if you’re a resident in Spain and receive a UK State Pension or an exportable benefit"
