I am a U.K. retired pensioner living in Spain, I have a SIP card, I also have a TIE permanente residencia card, I am planning to visit my sister who lives in France, my question is do I need to have a Spanish ehic card for my visit in case of illness.

As a retired U.K. pensioner, you are not entitled to a Spanish EHIC card as you have not made any contributions to the SHS. But as long as you were resident in Spain on 31 December 2020 under the withdrawal agreement you are entitled to a British card. Your British card is still valid until it expires, but if you need to renew then follow the instructions below
