Having not visited my house in GA for a year now due to pandemic and have only just had the jab it looks like at least another 6 months . We come over about 4 times a year usually.

Iberdrola charge us about 30€ a month for keeping us connected. Is there anyway to avoid these charges?

Any advice would be appreciated.

John

There are many in your situation. We too pay Iberdola a standing charge every month. We only pay 14-18 euros a month though. Perhaps we are on a lower tariff than you.

Good morning John

We did use Iberdrola, they are in the process of raising there prices.

Check the following site https://energy.sicompare.com/

They found a cheaper supplier and the change was completed within a couple of weeks.

Hope the helps

We have received an email over the weekend from Iberdrola to say our prices would not be rising, don't know whom that also applies to.

Good afternoon Mary

We got our email on the 31/12/2020 prices to be effective from the 7th Feb price increase about 15-16 percent.

I have never seen Iberdrola e-mail confirmation that they would not put up their prices, perhaps they have lost a lot of business?

Below are the night & day costs they were going to charge, my new provider rates for December was 0.064768 & 0.139490

Kind regards

Geoff

Hi John,

My monthly standing charge is approximately €17 with Siesta.

I like you haven't visited since December 2019, so it does bite a little standing charges but its no different in the UK.

If you are not tied in with Iberdrola and do not face a charge for leaving, perhaps a change of provider may help
