Hi John,

My monthly standing charge is approximately €17 with Siesta.

I like you haven't visited since December 2019, so it does bite a little standing charges but its no different in the UK.

If you are not tied in with Iberdrola and do not face a charge for leaving, perhaps a change of provider may help

Check if they do a seasonal tariff.

Good Morning all

Iberdrola were going to charge me from 7/2   Capacity 0.114723 €/Kw Day        Peak 0.189101 €KWh       Night  0.097863 €KWh

Fortuluz on spot price plus 0.012 admin         Capacity 0.104228 €/Kw Day        Peak 0.139490 €KWh       Night  0.064768 €KWh

I choose the spot prices they charge a month in arrears based on the daily wholesale market [www.omie.es] above prices include the admin

They do fixed prices but it is more expensive, but during the summer months the market rates do drop a fair bit so the savings are greater.

Warmest regards

Geoff

I have not been to my holiday home since the beginning of  September. Each month I receive an email informing of my electricity charge for that month. What surprises me is the charges are different each month. Does anyone know why this is?

Possibly because the number of days in the month change ?

Having not visited my house in GA for a year now due to pandemic and have only just had the jab it looks like at least another 6 months . We come over about 4 times a year usually.

Iberdrola charge us about 30€ a month for keeping us connected. Is there anyway to avoid these charges?

Any advice would be appreciated.

John

Hi John

We were in the same situation as you

Our power is turned off so our bills were standing charge only on the high KW incoming 30 euro

I phoned them Ibadrola,,( the number is on your bill) they were English speaking. We were advised to drop the incoming supply down to the lowest kw

tOur bill is now 6 euro a month, however you incur a small charge to drop it down and then a small charge to raise it again. They need a few days notice to do this . Don’t let it go over 12 months from the reduction as it becomes much more expensive to raise it again . Remember though the lowest incoming will only run a kettle and will trip out if overloaded

Hope this helps

Regards

Andy

If you look at the bills it does state how many days you are being charged for.

Ours varies between 26-35 depending on when reading taken.
