Yes you are...im not suggesting you in particular but this forum seems to have people with negative views and who try to give advice when they haven't 'walked the walk ' so to speak....Have you been refused entry to Spain?..There are no people on the border, just a handful of Guardia Civil at the first toll in France
Most if not all car hire offices are closed.

Hi Jim,
I’d be interested in knowing if anyone managed to get into Santa Pola area without residency or a Spanish passport.
I’m trying to get my husband back here to Spain but every government department I’ve spoken to has said they won’t allow him in since he has no residency paperwork. The unforeseen circumstance type clause is very much a luck of the draw on who checks you at passport control. I’m not even sure they will let my husband get on the flight In Sydney unless he can show them proof of him living in Spain which he can’t. We own a house , we have a Spanish bank account , he’s on the Padrón but none of those are acceptable apparently .
we’ve been apart since March 6th !

Last I checked, Eurocar is open at both of their locations in Alicante, train station and airport.
You should double check with them. For us Canadians, we can use autoeurope.ca. Maybe autoeurop has other sites.
