Can anyone advise on the rules and regulations, if any, relating to the use of communal swimming pools on la Marina. Time restristions relating to noise/parties etc.

A noise issue from what we think are holiday makers rather than residents. We have only just moved in. Don't particularly want to complain but if it happens again tonight we will have a polite word. Our community Chairman has responded to us saying there are no pool rules, users are just expected to behave reponsibiy.

Now that's more like it!! Although our pool is relatively small and shared by a community of 11 houses surely a few basic rules should apply ? We will make our thoughts known to the Chairman. Thank you very much for your advice on this matter. The Forum is proving to be invaluable to us Newcomers :)

Rules certainly should apply!
Royal Decree 742/2013, Article 14 says (my translation):
The owner of the pool will make available to users, in an accessible and easily visible place, at least the following information:
d) Information on the chemicals and compounds used in the treatment.
e) Information about the existence or otherwise of a lifeguard, and addresses and telephone numbers of the nearest health centres and emergency numbers.
f) The rules for use of the pool and rights and duties of users of the same.
The same law also details a lot of other requirements.Posted: Fri Aug 2, 2019 4:11pm

Thank you Jim. We are starting to think that because we are a small community they rely on good will. The Chairman has however just sent a message to advise...…..'Noise 8am to 10pm OK. 10pm to 12 at weekends still OK within reason. Anything outside, Police can be called' Still all seems a bit lacking to us. We intend to try and meet Andre, the Chairman over the weekend.

Maybe something to get on the Agenda when you have your AGM.

I think you should politely insist on complying with the law, and definitely settle the matter at your next AGM, or even an EGM.
My understanding is that the community would be jointly liable if the authorities did a check and found you all in breach of the law.
Never known a community that does not have rules, always thought it was Spanish law?
