We had Iberdrola install solar panels in October. What confuses us is that despite what energy we export what Iberdrola pay us is very little and what they charge us when we need to draw from the grid is more. Thanks
Hello
Surely these questions can only be answered by Iberdrola - Did you ask about this before you had the panels installed? Is it stated on the contract you have with them ?
Cheers

Super helpful member
As Elinspain has mentioned surely this is aomething that should have been covered in your contract with Iberdrola. In their marketing material it distinctly states 'cheaper rates during the hours without electricity. So that you save at all times.' see following link:

You need to check you are on the "smart solar" tariff, you should also have completed the paperwork that registers you as an energy producer.
If you look at your bill it should show how much you produced that month, how much you used etc.
If your bill doesn't show this you will need to oontact Iberdrola to sort it out.
We have had solar panels from Iberdrola for over a year and it's slashed our bills.

In total iberdrola charged us about €5.000. That included installation and the necessary permission.

No, you have to pay for the panels and installation, but you can apply for a grant to help with the cost,
Iberdrola will help with this.

Hi,
We had solar panels installed in June last year. I’m quite surprised to hear that your iberdrola bills show how much you have produced yourself on them where we cannot. Our bills are very high although we seem to be producing more from our solar panels than necessary and think that our solar company has not even informed iberdrola that we have solar power. We have complained to our solar company who informed us that all is working well but we are not satisfied with this answer. I know this is a big favor to ask but could you maybe give us a copy of your invoice where it shows what you produce through the solar panels, maybe with this we can go to Iberdrola and find out why we can’t see it on our invoices. Blacking out all personal details of course. If this is possible we would be very thankful.
