Hi,

My electric tripped off every time when I put a few electrical equipment on. What is the reason for this, anyone know about this?

Any recommendation for an electrician? Looking for someone who can give a reasonable price.

Hi, as per replies below it will almost be because you are on a low electric rating , we were only on a 2.75 rating and if oven, washing machine , microwave and hairdryer on then you can guarantee it will trip.

We had ours upgraded to 5.5 and now "touch wood" never had a trip yet

You do require a fully registered electrician, they would check your wiring circuit board ect to ensure it is capable of uprating, if you are in a very old property that has old fashioned wiring then it would most probably have to be rewired but if in a post 70's type house then don't think it will be a problem.

The electrician declares to iberdrola that it conforms to requirements once he/she has inspected ( it's like in UK if build new extension on your house under building control regulations you need an electrical certificate to pass to local planning office so they can sign it off) hence it must be a registered qualified person not a freind down the road who can arrange it because if anything did go wrong you have documented proof it was done by correct procedure.

We paid €450 euro even then thought it was a lot but they said that's total price to get it uprated, it took about three weeks and one morning iberdrola turned up and only there 5 minutes and very nice guy said now all uprated ,  bu then one week later received a invoice from iberdrola for a connection fee of €170.00 so overall it cost €620 .

The electrician basicly said it's standard charge but we thought it was all in the original price of €450 but hey hohh.

Thank you so much for your reply. I may need to get a few quotations first before ordering the upgrade work... :) Now I know roughly how much it will cost, it is more easy for me.

No problems, I hope you can resolve quickly , I cannot give you any recommendations either as your not in our area as we are hour away .

There is one person on this website Peter Taylor I think he is called,  Legend of the forum or something as he has helped me , I think he is from La Marina area and been here many years he may know of electrician.

Good look
