I had the same problem and found a shortcut in the heating core which needed to be replaced. Better "Repuestos Electrodomesticos" carry these and with basic DIY skills you can do the job on your own (and save a bunch).

Heating element has blown. You need to replace it.

There are two elements and normally the top one goes as for the fat spitting on it. Take of the back with the electric disconnected to the cooker. Then take off the spade connectors to the top element and tape up with insulation tape. Turn on and try the oven. If it works you know the top element is at fault. Take it out and find a replacement. It is fixed with 2 or 3 screws it is very easy to do.

Yes, as previously advised  it’s probably the heating element that’s to blame. It’s a fairly common problem here in Spain due to the humidity.

If you need someone to have a look at it for you I recommend Stewart, details below.

Hi,

Same happened to me.  The condensation/humidity got into the oven and it kept tripping.  I turned it on full at first but it kept tripping then I cleaned it out and put it on low heat and kept turning it back on on low heat until it stopped tripping.  I then started to increase the heat until eventually it started working correctly and stopped tripping. Some people use a hair dryer others have said they leave the door open for a time to let it dry out.

If you contact Stuart at Domestic Appliance repairs, he’ll sort it for you.  He repaired a friend’s oven with the same issue last week… +34 654 93 92 02

Good luck

Call Stuart - he's a very nice man and his prices are always very fair.  If you explain over the phone, he will give you an idea :-)
