The truth was very cleverly hidden by the UK Government to get the vote to leave the EU which is exactly what they wanted. They told so many lies to get that result and still a lot of people in the UK do not realise the truth. They still think to leave was simply to keep out people from the EU wh...

...ere, in fact, it is people from outside the EU that cause the problems coming into the UK. While we are on the subject, where is the 350 million that was promised to the NHS brazenly embellished on the side of a double decker bus gone? There was no mention of withdrawing from the Customs Union, of imposing tax on imports ( which they surely can't expect to do without EU countries doing the same in the reverse)

Millions were fooled into voting to leave and now they and everyone else is paying dearly for the stupid decision.

Sorry Nikki but you are wrong in what you say, The UK government at the time of the referendum vote were in favour of staying in the EU, remember that Cameron, the PM of the day, resigned when the government lost the vote. They also had the chance to present the arguments against leaving, as did the members if the opposition parties that were party of the remainer group.  So I am not sure how anything could have been hidden. More likely the majority did not care about the 90 day rule, why would they when it does not impact them directly/

Hi you can stay for 90 days in a rolling 180 day period. I normally come for 90 days then go back to the U.K. for 90 days then return for 90 days. If you don’t want to do your 90 days in one block then I suggest you google one of the Schengen online calculators so that you can make sure you don...

...’t over stay. The 90 day rule applies to the Schengen area, so say for example you go to France for 14 days that eats into your 90 days, as does any country you visit in the Schengen area. Search the forum there’s lots of invaluable advice on this subject.

There’s plenty more on the internet

Hi I usually come mid March leave mid June then back mid September but nothing set in stone. I avoid July & August as I find it too hot,I also look after my grandchildren in the 6 week summer holidays. I choose to come in these months as I love to walk usually a minimum of 6 miles a day, I also like to ride my bike and I find July & August a bit draining with the heat, perhaps if I was a bit younger the heat wouldn’t restrict my activities 😂😂

I would agree totally, we sometimes run to early July as in first week or so as it starts to get to warm plus August all the Spanish are on holiday so the place is packed, I can get chilly if you stay over christmas also we have sat on La Zenia beach shorts and T-Shirt in early 20's degrees, great way of life we walk for miles will have to put a few in later this year as excess timber has developed over lockdown 😂😂😂

Who are you telling to “stick it”?

I sometimes wonder if some of you get pleasure out of pointing out things that cause others upset. I read comments and am aghast and shake my head in horror. We are all human beings doing our best to get through life and do not want or deserve rotten little jibes. Many people have bought holiday ...

...homes in Spain and enjoy spending time in them. The Schengen rules have always existed but not implemented which is exactly what I think Spain will continue to do so let’s all wait and see. I know it angers many people that retired people from all over came over to Spain and stayed longer than 6 months but continued to pay their taxes in their home countries. I wonder if the tax in Spain was less than it is in the U.K. would you continue to go on about it!  Lots of elderly folk have very little to live on and opt to remain with their own nation to save some money so be charitable and understand their reasons. Yes, I know the same applies to many of you now permanently living and paying your taxes in Spain, just be thankful that you are honourable people and doing the right thing. Our lovely Swedish neighbour used to stay in her little apartment for 8 months and then return to Sweden for the summer and never worried that she had overstayed her allotted time. Sadly, she’s too old to return anymore so we won’t have the pleasure of having her live across from us. On the other side of the coin, the only people who don’t pay their urbanisation fees are the Spanish and there’s no shame in them. I see their grandchildren using our pool and enjoying themselves regularly but I’m not going to cause trouble or embarrassment, I don’t know why they aren’t contributing to the upkeep of the place but we pay ours as is expected.

I will finish by asking those who seem to get great joy out of other peoples distress to think about it and please offer help instead of being judgemental.

In my previous community, the people who didn’t pay their fees were from Russia, not Spain. A sweeping generalisation there.

In our community it is a mix of nationalities who do not pay their fees.

Spot on, people on this board keep taking brexit personally yet the millions that voted for and against it did not give 2 hoots for what happened with ex pats, why would they, they are a fraction of a percentage point, brexit was about so much more.

So if I did 10 per month would thar be OK? Or do you have to have a break?

Hi Cliff h Just doing the maths, you could do 15 days every month, or half a month of every month. Which should be fine.
