Good afternoon,

I have found a villa to rent for a week on the Urb on lamarinarentals.com, Has anyone had any experience dealing with this company?

The price was very competitive compared to villas in other towns, Just seemed too good to be true!

Also is there a section on here where holiday makers can view available villas to rent for a week?

Thanks in advance

Dan

Hello Dan

Is it a legal rental with a Tourist Licence?   If so, they must have a  VT number they can quote and display a plaque outside.....ask the agent for proof.

Cheers

Under the legal regional regulations, the Tourist License number must be included in any property promotion. It will take the format VT-000000-A. The License can be checked against the regional register, which also displays the maximum number of guests allowed.

No VT number means it is an illegal let, by default that means uninsured. It also may not meet required safety regulations for a holiday let, or they may be over occupancy etc.

Always double check the License number. This is the link to the regional register https://www.turisme.gva.es

Chose Signatura option, enter the 6 digit number and choose Alacant from the drop down menu, click Buscar. If a valid License number it will display the address of the property and max occupancy.

They do show the license number on their web site, but the prices do look almost too good to be true. I live just 400 metres up the street from their address and don't remember seeing their office. It used to be Briñas Aluminios that had their office on the premises, so they must be new in town. They also go under the name Somos Rentals.

It was the prices that concerned me, Not that I'm complaining of course if it's legit.

Thanks everyone for your information

Just looked at their web site, almost all the properties in La Marina have the same license number, EGVT-1059-A

Check the number quoted against the register to see that everything matches.  Details in earlier comment above.

That is the agent's number, you need the property's own number. A property number has the format VT-6 digits-A.  Even agent's cannot legally let unlicensed properties. In La Marina it has been quite difficult to obtain new  Licenses for the last 4 or 5 years.
