Hi we are seriously thinking of joining the community of La Marina but I am a keen walker and nature lover and wondered if there is any pretty walks or rivers close by for me to get my nature fix?
The lake at La Mata is great. Enter from the Guardamar roundabout. Obviously the salt lakes at Santa Pola which is full of flamingos and other water birds. Not far to El Recorral Park in Rojales/Quesada which has marked routes around the lakes along with signs telling you the names of the trees, the type of birds you can see such as owls etc plus the ducks and so on. Some very easy trails and some a bit more strenuous depending on what you want.
Lots around the area. Many people walk or cycle the routes along the Rio Segura which stretches a long way.
Several parks and gardens very close to La Marina between you and Santa Pola. A few to mention are Parque Natural Alfonso XIII, Las Dunas, Salinas de Santa Pola and many more.
Just take lots of water with you.

Hi, there is a group called La Marina walkers who arrange walks on a Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
If you Google it, you will find there website.
