Mercadona sell this very flavoursome cheese, see photo attached. Consum sell Cathedral City and Kerrygold mature cheddar.

Thank you everyone 😊

I'll second that a very good cheese.

Though I have found one or two Spanish cheeses that are ok, I do prefer a strong cheddar, so Iceland is my go-to shop for that. If you like blue cheese, MasYMas do a beautiful one which I think is German. Seriously yummy!

Lidl sell cheddar, mature and extra mature.  There are a lot of good strong tasting spanish cheeses , I would go for video, rather than curado or semi curado. Although I like to add some semi curado to cheese sauce, as it melts so well, a bit like gruyere does,  but always add viejo or cheddar and a bit of parmesan too.

Spanish cheeses are very good, and so many varieties

This is the only one I use. It’s great it’s just like cheddar. Susan

That mercaddona one is the best cheese ever ,far better than any of the ones I have to use when back in the UK

I have found many Spanish cheeses to be soft and without much flavour like a mature Cheddar.  Due to the colossal price increase recently of the big blocks of cheddar at Iceland I am no longer buying it.  I fail to see how they can justify this unless it's just a rip-off.

My local Consum has small blocks of Cathedral but most importantly right now is to buy a nice mature Stilton in time for Christmas.

Consum usually have that and it's a nice Christmas treat, albeit not a cheap one.

I'd recommend a Spanish, flavoursome cheese, called "Tostado Viejo", sold in Mercadona.

Kind regards,

Kim
