Anybody use transferwise to send money to Spain ?

If so, have you moved large amounts and how did you find it ?

Would appreciate any comments.

thanks very much

Yes, absolutely no problem. Better than the bank. Simple to use.  Have also used it to transfer money to Switzerland and that was fine too. Will be using them again.

I have been using Transferwise for over a year and the last amount transferred was to buy my apartment in Torrevieja which was around 200k. They were efficient and very cost effective, I would definitely recommend them.

Good luck with your purchase, I am happy with mine.

At the end of the day the calculation is:

£In  x  (conversion rate)  -  (exchange fee and transfer fees) = €Out

It is the '€Out' that matters, especially if you are talking about a large amount.

For figures < 2000 you can do it on-line, but for larger amounts you need to SPEAK with an advisor.

To pick a company now when your transfer will be in the future is very short sighted.

You need to register with several Money Transfer companies now, as due to money laundering rules, it takes few days to be fully registered.

Then when the time comes, call each in turn and get a quote......play one against the other if needs be - its your money.....get the best deal you can!

thanks good point.  I used transferwise for the last payment very successfully but as you point out the next one which will be next month will be substantially more so, as you say, would make sense to "shop around" - thanks for advice extremely helpful :-)
