Not a clicking noise no and I've never heard it in the night. Are you sure it's a bird making the clicking noises and not a frog or toad? They make some spectacular noises, often at night.

...to pin point as the sound travels. It's like a high pitched whoooooooooo, at first I thought it was a dog but it's not a typical dog whine or howl. Do peacocks make this sort of noise? Again, not the noise I've heard peacocks make! Any funny comments I'll take in my stride but some serious answers would be helpful!
Is it a nightjar ? We have one that flies over us
