I've had state health care on the back of my husband for a few years as he was a pensioner. I'm now old enough to apply for my own sip card

I've registered online with social services and completed the online form along with my S1 . I've had an email confirming that it's in progress. I just wondered if anyone else who's done this themselves could tell me how long it took before they received their own sip card?...

...

I did this last year, I registered my S1 online and received my SS number. I took that along to the SS office who generated a request for the SIP to the CSI (Centro de Salud Santa Pola). A reply came back there and then saying that the the card would be ready to pick up at the CSI in 3 days. They also registered me with the GP there and even gave me an appointment. Popped in a week later for the SIP. That was it.

Hi Helen57, picked up the form from solicitor today for S1,took it to my health centre and they issued me with a new SIP card there and then. Just to make you aware they asked me for my Padron, which fortunately I had just updated because I knew this was required. Hope your application goes as smoothly as mine did, although it cost me €80 for my solicitor, but I know there’s no way I could have done it online myself, so I’m just happy that’s it’s all sorted now.
