Hi All - hoping for some assistance here from you worldly wise people...!

I have a Wise on-line bank account, currently use it as a debit card and currency transfers, and very happy with its simplicity and being fee-free, and I am aiming to use it as my sole bank asap.. I also have a NR current account with Sabadell and am looking to stop using this and close it down. within the transition to Wise.

However, before doing so I am trying to change my DD's from Sabadell to Wise - I have managed to transfer Iberdrola no problem, but Hyrdaqua is a little troubleome....

When in my Hidraqua account page, there is a page to update my bank account details, which I have proceeded to complete. However, Hidraqua are asking for my bank account number (ie Wise), and stipulating that it must be in the following format...

IBAN format: Two letters (in Spain: ES), two control numbers and **20 more numbers**.

However, my  Wise account number  has the 2 letters - BN, then 2 control numbers, followed by **16 more numbers** - not the 20 as requested by Hidraqua...

I have seen previous discussions and comments where members have transferred their banking over to Wise, together with their DD's - can anybody advise if they have had the same issue as myself with the shorter Wise bank account number not being accepted and, if resolved, how was this done?

Many thanks in anticipation, Steve

Steve, I am the same as you, its a real struggle, got to be the most unhelpful webb site I have used, I have cancelled my DD with Sabadell and until I can set up a DD with Hidraqua I am hopeful going to pay my bill online.

Hi Steve

Just a couple of things

Could you check your IBAN number with the Wise helpline? 0203 8087139

Wise' account is based in Belgium BE prefix but you state BN

My Wise IBAN number has 16 digits in total including the letters.

When you have confirmed that you have the correct IBAN number, rather than try to change your direct debit details within your Hydraqua account, could you try ' contact us ' ?

The link will be at the top of the page, fill in the form and give them your IBAN number in writing and ask them to reply with a confirmation that they have changed the numbers for you.

I have always had a good response from them doing it this way, usually within 24hrs.

Ken

Kenbo, done as you suggested, at least they got back to me, this is what they now want.

Please, for the new direct debit, send your NIE + passport + SEPA form + foreign bank form + personal data form (3 attachments).

All to change a Direct Debit, really difficult company to deal with where as Iberdrola were a doddle to deal with.

Wow, what's all that about ??

I don't know what those last three things are, maybe ask them if they could supply the forms ? I may have read elsewhere that they did this.

Failing this, I actually visited their office when I was in Spain and gave them the new IBAN number, of course if you aren't going over any time soon then this isn't too helpful.

Hi Richard

Like yourself, I have done what Kenbo sugested, received 2 forms to complete which required new bank account IBAN, Swift code etc...

I only had 2 forms to do (you say you had 3?), and have sent them off, with a note saying I do not know what the following information is, or where I can obtain it from? I wait, in anticipation, for their reply........

Código Agencia Bancaria

Dirección Agencia Bancaria

Código Postal Agencia Bancaria

Código BIC/SWIFT Agencia

Hi Steve

1 is Bank agency  code.

2 is address of your bank

3 is post code of your bank

4 is BIC/Swift code of your bank although you have already submitted this.

Hi.....I had the same problem however I have now changed the way I pay and it works for me. I was paying DD from my Starling Account but when they stopped accepting UK IBan numbers I cancelled the Direct Debit altogether and I receive a bill from Hidraqua every 3 months by email. I then go on their English web site and pay directly over the internet and it is easy and pain free.  All you require is the refferfence number under the bar code on the bill that you can access online. I do the same with the yearly Suma.
