I believe Mr Javier Blasco returns to office first week of January 2023.

I advise you to contact his assistant Ms Sabina Castells.

I had this problem a few years ago before I became a resident.  You had to go into branch to show your passport, I didn’t know that and they blocked my account.  Electric, water and suma did not get paid.  They took the mortgage as that was with their bank.  If I wouldn’t have found letters from Iberdrola in my post box when I came over I would have been cut off.  I now check my bank statement daily as I don’t trust them at all.

Oh no, I'll have to get to Spain soon to sort this out.

Thank you

Hi Paula

Caixa bank are terrible, Our Community has an account with them, They refused to take the owners DD's. What bank doesn't take money.? As you live in the UK, Have you signed a new contract with them? as since Brexit all Uk Non residents have to sign a new contact you will also need your UK national insurance number.

You will probably need to make an apointment to see anyone. So try phoning them to make an appointment, which Branch are you with?

Personally I would change to Wise ,based in Belgium. Many people are changing to them. You can open a Uk account and an EU account, you simply transfer money from the Uk account to the Euro account where you can set up DD's and transfers easily. They are much cheaper than Spanish banks. Good luck.

Hi Alfapash,

Thank you for letting me know, I will be coming to Spain in a few months and will change my account to Wise. Other people have mentioned Wise, so they must be good.
