The roads can’t cope with the volume of traffic now, what on earth are the planners thinking?  It’s an absolute disgrace.  Pure greed.  Sadly, after a while, the buildings will be up and the lovely view a long, forgotten memory

Totally agree, the Orihuela council is driven by greed and could not care laess about OC!  The roads is one thing, all other infrastructure will suffer from the housing construction; lack of electric power, lack of water supply, lack of proper refuse system and lack of open spaces that should have been used as public parks.

The total lack maintenance of roads, fences, parks, sidewalks and evething in between are also totally neglected!

All this is a disgrace and we start to wonder if we should not have bought our property here.  I like the wibe but the menice council in Orhuela is definite a chilling factor.

For everyone that can wote please support Independencia praya Orhuela Costa (IPOC), hopefully we can get out of the Orihuela claws and have our own municipality in OC, which works for the people that live here!

Views ruined and the traffic will be terrible.

It's sad this is happening.

The way they're going, people will be leaving in droves. The place is becoming an ugly concrete jungle, all due to sheer greed and, most likely, brown envelopes under the table.

Any piece of land, it seems, is being built on. But the banks still have thousands of repossessed properties from the last price crash! Rest assured, there WILL be another property bubble burst. NO economy can survive if it's underpinned by housing alone. But try telling the Spanish that.

I totally agree with you

Iv been in playa Flamenca 18 years as a non resident and iv seen how it has become a concrete jungle.  Such a shame as I love the location.

Way to go Orihuela council! Now instead of taking 40 minutes to get to Torrevieja from Playa flamenca on the N332 in the Summer, it'll take an hour. Is there a round of applause emoji on here i can use somewhere?

I can't wait to leave TBH. Maybe up towards Valencia next. Or a different country!

I can't imagine why anyone would want to buy in the area now.

Good point actually, anyone know what's on the planning permission ?

Over 2000 homes is not houses the plots not big enough.

Hello , many years ago was the Arquitect plans in the Ayuntamiento in

Orihuela ciudad. According to those plans . It should be a gym build in that area,

Also the building cannot go higher Thant 3 levels , building should be like

Urbanización “Las Terrazas “ and Urb. “La Calma “ not higher.

Also should be a pedestrian bridge to cross the N32 .

A park or gym on the land between “Urb El Rincon “ ,” Urb La Calma” y “La Quinta”’

All this it’s Gomendio Builders.

I will try to find the photographs and publish them here .

Hi

Yes those two complex were not to go any higher and were the first to be built. The bridge over or under has never been constructed. There were no plans for the eyesore of the garage opposite Las Terrazas and the land behind was supposed to be open.  Again that's been built on.  It's all too much and the traffic is so bad, what's it going to be like in the future.

Hi , I think we need to get together and see the Councillor of this area and ask??

What has happened to this areas ?. The best think is for the law to impose a tree plant for each apartment. It’s build in this area. Also a good public transport to stop using our cars.
