I guess it might not be possible for you but I had the battery go with the keys inside my unused safe, I put it in the oven at low temp which was just enough to boost the battery and gave one shot at the code...its still new in a box in the shed but keys now outside..

If it is just one og those cheap boxes that are standard in many houses and apartments, it may be cheaper to buy a new instead of calling out a locksmith.
