I venture to suggest that you get 3 Presupuestos from your local plumbers, as these are going to be more use to you than any comment on this Forum.  Air-con can be noisy so I installed the air-con unit OUTSIDE and have ducted cold air distributed to the rooms.  It is nice  and quiet;  Good luck.

The above advice sounds interesting as many air con units so make noise but so also do fans.  I don’t mind as the most important thing to me is the cool air and being able to sleep all night long!

If you have a solarium in your new house, the engineer will most likely place the refrigeration units on it. Ask him to install a power point socket when he is at it. I do my ironing up on the roof in the late afternoon while topping up my tan. We loved playing music when relaxing on our sunloungers.  A power point is so handy for so many reasons..  drill as well.

I think an engineer will charge you €500 per unit and you will need a larger unit for your sitting room .  It’s money well spent. Do it sooner rather than later.  Make your home as comfortable as your home in the U.K. and you won’t regret it.

I wish you many years of joy and happiness in your new Spanish home in the sun.

I replaced both my ceiling fans and air con units last year and the new units are much quieter than their predecessors and their noise is not intrusive.

We have a house with a/c, although some of the units are now past it. We have been perfectly happy with electric fans as good quality modern ones a very quiet; we looked into replacing one unit in our sitting area earlier this year, which already obviously had all the power supplies etc in situ. We were quoted around 700 Eu to supply and install. We didn’t bother, as we would rarely use it and honestly find fans sufficient.

To say nothing of how eco unfriendly a/c is!!!!!!
