Has anybody been waiting a long time for a routine mammogram at Torrevieja Hospital? My annual test was requested on 7th September, and is normally within 4 weeks. I have not received any SMS yet? Thanks

Hi I have just received a letter yesterday for an appointment dated 31 October 2023!!!! Rang today and they said no problem and have given me a new appointment for 12 December 2023, this is my first time at Torrevieja. Could I ask you directions on how to get there please. Gillian PS I have their telephone number if you would like to ring they do speak some English

Hi Gillian,
I have been here 8 years, and they have always sent an SMS notifying of my appointment. It has never taken this long. I have the hospital phone number, but think I might have a better result actually asking at the hospital reception, so I will pop along there on Monday. As I don’t know where you are, I would suggest that you look on Google maps. It is clearly marked and easy to get to. Thanks for your reply.

It's only 35 euros at imed if you go through pink ladies (see internet) and you should get an appointment within a week.

Just to give an update on my post. I did go to the hospital reception on that following Monday. I showed them the request my GP had made. Within the hour I got an SMS with an appointment for that week. Next year I will do the same, as I think the system is not always picking up the requests for a mammogram that the doctor makes. That is a good price though at IMED and useful information. Thank you. 👍
