Hi Tessa

It would be lovely to meet up when you are here. We fly home for August/September as my daughter is having her second child (I don’t want to miss that!). We are back first week in October, so give us a shout when you are here, it’s always great to share experiences, everyone here is so helpfu...

...l and friendly.

Looking forward to meeting you.

Kind regards

Lorraine and Brian

My daughter is expecting her first child 4th August. We arrive there 5th October. Booked flights to Alicante just need to book somewhere to stay yet but will wait until we see where the majority are that we wish to view.

Look forward to meeting you!

Jan & Ross

Hello

Thank you for adding me to the group. I'm Jan & my partners Ross. We are in our 50s (30s in our minds). We have just sold our holiday home in the lovely area of Kemer in Turkey & are now looking to buy closer to the UK where we live. Researching Spain in general we quite fancy Playa Flamen...

...ca & surrounding areas in Alicante/Murcia regions within 1 hour airport & 30 mins walk to beach. We like culture & things to do & see (Ross loves diving & Watersports). Nice restaurants & lovely places to sit & chill & people watch! Advice on buying would also be appreciated as we've learnt there is approx 14% to add on to purchase price with fees etc. Not interested in tall blocks. 3 stories tallest & looking for ground floor bungalow type or 1st floor.

All advice appreciated for us English looking to buy holiday home!

Thank you

Jan & Ross

Hi. We have just completed an an apartmenr in Punta Prima. We looked all over Orihuela costa ans decided it waa right for us. The fees are approx 14 % however prices are negotiable. Amy from Sunworld waa brilliant showing us around the area including the beachea and La Zenia boulevard. She even took us to Los Alaczares before we decided on Punta Prima.Your solicitor or conveyancer can arrange a power of attorney and take care of everything for you including sorting out your home insuarance.utlilies.bank account. Nie and transfers etc making it really hassle free

We will be visiting our new holiday home for the first time next Friday and cannot wait ! Good luck in your search

Hi all, Been in La Florida for 3 months now, as a holiday home, been there twice now, a few days ago came back to UK.

Was wondering if anybody knew any places where we could get second hand furniture for a solarium. nice big table few chairs etc... even that lovely wicker setee type setups. Is ebay a good source maybe, or is there a second hand place nearby.

Hi Jan,

Myself and my wife are in our early 50s and bought a 3 bed townhouse in the La Florida area of Orihuella costa in 2014. The area has a number of urbanisations with  eclectic mix of properties. Its 30 mins walk to the beach and.well.served with bars restaurants, shops etc and is only 10 mins from La Zenia boulevard . Add 15% onto the property price for all fees and taxes and also make sure you get an established lawyer( we had maria Ginestar ( based in los dolces)who was excellent. Negotiate hard for your property and take your time checking out all.the areas along the Orihuella coast which is only 40 mins.from. Alicante or San Javier.

Good luck

Joe and Cath
