Hi my name is Lesley, I have sold my house in the UK and am renting a property in Playa Flamenca from friends on a short term basis. I was would like to know if anyone would advice renting long term or to look to buy . I am 56 and moving with my two dogs, is this area a good one for single ladies of my age ?

Hi Lesley

I am 52 and moved to Villamartin in July. I am not single so can't really answer answer your question about a single lifestyle but I have found everybody to be very friendly. My husband plays golf 3 times a week so I am "single" on those days. If you wanted to get together for a coffee and a gossip on one of those days I could drive over to Playa Flamenca as its only 5 minutes in the car. Will you have use of a car? Some mornings I go to various exercise classes at Vida fitness studio in Los Dolses. It is small and friendly with classes attended by ladies of all ages and shapes/sizes, and usually a few people go for coffee after class - I found it a good way of getting to know people.

Cheers

Ros

Hi Ros, thanks for the information, I wont have a car, as I have decided to sell my car at home. I may get a car at a later date. It would be great to meet up when I get over there., I really want to join as many clubs as I get to get to know people, Lesley

Hi Lesley / Ros,

We purchased an apartment in San Miguel de Salinas recently and although we are not there full time as we are still working, we will be coming back and forth on a regular basis.

As my husband will be working from home whilst we are in San Miguel, I won't be so would be nice to meet up for coffee and chat, as I would like to get to meet some new friends.

Regards

Amanda

Lesley, good luck with your move, I have bought a house in Villamartin recently and will use it as a holiday home for a year or so before I can move out. I liked all areas in Orhuiela Costa and can't wait till its me, let us know how it goes

Hi Lesley Playa Flemenca nice area.   If you are near La Florida there is  a nice little strip there where the people are also arm and friendly.
