We always go in the Friendly Bar when in Playa Flamenca, Dave and Jane who own the bar are really knowledgeable about the area and will go out of their way to help you. There's not much they don't know and the people in the bar are a nice bunch, I don't drink when I go there as I'm usually driving so just have a coffee or two so they're not making much from my visits but they've still been really helpful.

Hi, we always hire a car when we are out there but were chatting in a local pub to a few ladies who were in their 50s and 60s, they said they have a great social life and get together for clubs, quizzes, bingo, chats, etc. a few times a week. None drive and said the bus service is cheap and excellent.

Hi Lesley / Ros,

We purchased an apartment in San Miguel de Salinas recently and although we are not there full time as we are still working, we will be coming back and forth on a regular basis.

As my husband will be working from home whilst we are in San Miguel, I won't be so would be nice to meet up for coffee and chat, as I would like to get to meet some new friends.

Regards

Amanda

Hi

We bought an apartment in San Miguel about 2 years ago and have been out 6 times last year 5 year before and probably will be 4 or 5 times this year. I am retiring this year so plan to come out for longer periods than my husband as he will still be working. I am interested in meeting new people and plan to bite the bullit and drive out there this year. We are driving down end of June for 3 weeks and then I plan to come out before him in September. If any of you ladies would like to meet up for a coffee I am up for it.

Jenny

Hi, I have been in Playa Flamenca for just a week and have an offer accepted on a property, with the view to completing in mid June.I am staying in a villa on Calle Niagara, just by the sports centre at the moment. Any suggestions on the best places to go in the area?, thanks Lesley.

Hi Lesley,

Congratulations on having an offer accepted. I expect you are really excited. My husband and I came out here last September, put in an offer and moved to Playa Flamenca last November. We live on Calle Niagara, the sports centre end, so probably a stone's throw away. I tend to go out on my own, as my husband prefers being at home. I am finding my way around without a car, which is also new to me. We both had cars in the UK. If you want to meet up for a chat send a private message. I am meeting 2 friends on Friday at 12:00 at La Zenia Boulevard, and we will have lunch there. If you like you could join us?

All the best, Sheila

Hi my name is Lesley, I have sold my house in the UK and am renting a property in Playa Flamenca from friends on a short term basis. I was would like to know if anyone would advice renting long term or to look to buy . I am 56 and moving with my two dogs, is this area a good one for single ladies...

... of my age ?

if you go to the sports bar in Playa Flemenca Complex you will find a lot of local people around your age. They have bingo on a Tuesday afternoon and also a ladies club where all the locals (mostly British)meet i think it is once a month. The people are friendly and the drink is cheap. They don;t mind if you bring the dog with you.

The citrus centre is a bit further out and has a few bars that lots of locals visit. The largest commercial centre is about hakf a mile nearer the sea and has loads of bars and restaurants. It is quite quiet in the faytime but livelier at night. It is near the n332 road.

If you get in a taxi ask for spud murphys. All the drivers know where that is as its one if the oldest places in the centre. Map for you attached.
