Hi does anyone Irish who is resident in Spain know if you can use your free travel pass when visiting Ireland. Legally I know you have to be resident in Ireland to use it. Looking for a loophole lol

You will qualify for Free Travel, if you are legally resident and living permanently in Ireland on an all-year-round basis and are aged 66 years or over (see link below).

If you have notified the Irish authorities that you have moved abroad, for example, have been issued with a S1 for healthcare purposes and or have your retirement pension paid into a Spanish bank account, the Irish authorities will obviously know you are nolonger resident in the Ireland.

For what it is worth I wouldn't take risks as you will be liable to prosecution:

Yes it would be risky. Our pensions will be lodged still into irish bank account. Ibhave HSE pension.  Handy for healthcare. Easier to just hire car at dublin airport.
