Rick the non res tax is not based on the value(ie. what it's worth) but a figure found on your IBI statement from Suma called cadastral value which is what the government thinks it should be worth. This figure is nothing like a valuation and I have to admit I don't know how they achieve it. Howev...

...er the figure is multiplied by either 1%(recently revalued) or 2% if not revalued within past 10years then multiplied by the 19%(this year for last year) or 24%from year of 2021(paid in 2022).You need to look at your IBI invoice, then you can work it out. Hope this helps.

Hi Pauline, as we haven’t bought a property yet we don’t have the IBI statement to work out what we would be due.

If the property is owned by a married couple is the tax split 50/50 or is it doubled do you know please?

Kind regards

Rick

It's split between number of owners. You can't generalise either IBI or Non res tax as too many variables. Our IBI went from 126€ Yr in 2018 to 349€ when revalued and was backdated for 4 previous yrs. Our non res tax then went up from 78€yr to 240€. So it depends on last valuation and when done.
