Lots of posts on here about non resident tax.
It is based on the cadastral value of your property which is the rateable value. A lot less than the actual value and mainly less than half.
You then multiply that value by 1.1 or 2 percent depending on if it has been revalued in the last 10 years and than 24% of that if a non EU citizen and 19% if EU.
Example. Property value of 200k and the cadastral value of 70k. Multiply 70k by 2% (if not revalued in the last 10 years) is 1400 euro. Then you pay (if a Brit) 24% of that so 336 euro. This is divided by the number of property owners, not each. If two of you own it you pay 168 euro each. You'll probably find it's less than that.
Do not use your solicitor to do it for you as they will charge more than the cost. There is Spanish Tax forms Ltd who charge about 35 euro between you (per property, not each owner).
When I paid non res tax on my house which was bought for 190k some 15 years ago, my bill was about 70 euro between us for the year.
There are other companies that do the forms for you. It is a form 210 and is payable a year in arrears so you will pay for 2023 in December 2024.
The cadastral value will be on the council tax bill when they send it to you or you can get it from your local town hall,. It is not a SUMA local tax but a regional one and you pay it at your bank.
