The solicitor we used to purchase our property in June 2018 has emailed to say we need to submit our NRIT return and has asked for our 2018 IBI receipt. I do not know what the IBI receipt is?? They have quoted 363€ to do both our returns. Is this the going rate or expensive? When is the return due? I am confused!!

It is your Non Resident Income Tax, you would only pay for the part of the year after you bought your property until 31/12/2018 and the deadline is 31/12/2019.

That is a complete rip off, you could do it yourself using Jim Taylor's Guide or get a company like Spanish Tax Forms to do it for you for around 35€ each.

Your solicitor may have set up a direct debit from your bank account to pay the yearly suma bill, ours did, and if so, you should be able to print off s copy of the direct debit payment/advice slip from your bank account. I’m with Sabadell and this facility is available with them
