Where are these forum stats please?
You scroll down the Forum Home Page and you will see them.

Thanks! Found them!
OK, so you are saying that there are people "online" who said they were leaving the forum? But that assumes that members log out/go offline which I for one don't. So unless the forum logs me out, say after a period of inactivity, I would be permanently online but may not active; if you see what I mean.

What I am saying is that you can see when someone was last online on the Forum. If for example someone said they were leaving on Monday and the stats show they have been on the Forum several times since including their last time online a picture emerges.
I don’t think the online log is dependent on logging on or out. It appears so show who is actively “looking” at that moment in time. My thought only of course 🤪🥂

That's an interesting point Ange, but the stats refer to members as "online", which I may always be as I never log out.

If you close your browser without logging out and then reopen it you will see the new time you have "logged in".

The "online" list is all those who have looked at this website while logged into their account within the last 10 minutes, who also have not hid their online status in their account preferences.

As John56 says, whose "online" & what "they" have done seems to be of a lack of importance.
Many times, I have left it (ie: the computer at home) "logged" on, (I´m just lazy!),
but I never thought of whose on. The forum here, (at the mo.) seems more concerned with "who they are, what they said etc". IE: "who said, she said" leaves me ( in my opinion) feeling bland. V

Thanks John & Alex,
I've learnt something new here. Didn't know the stats existed, or what they were recording, though I'm clear now.
In my case I usually access the site via my Phone or Tablet. I never log out, close my browse or exit the app as I'm lazy & tend to leave things running in the background.
When on the forum I see a few regular names I recognize, and apart from those I know were banned and Jim, the others appear to still be here. So I've not seen anything that suggests some have left & are regretting it so may return. It's their choice.
There have been a couple of threads on this subject since Alex made his decision, and on the whole most users appear to support his decision. At the end of the day it's Alex's forum & his decision.
As I've said previously, I hope everyone simply accepts the change and that both CBF & Jim's website are successful as I personally see nothing wrong with people belong to both if that's what they want to do.

Hi Paul
As you say, I never log out. Worse, I sometimes don’t even close my iPad, so, if I’ve just been on the forum, it may well identify I’m still there hours later 🧐
People are, of course, “allowed” to be on any number of forums, nobody’s business but their own. Personally, I suspect a little mischief making currently, but that’s my opinion and therefore, subjective. I value the existing calm for it to be anything other than my own musings 🤪🥂
