John,

every country has had hospitality restrictions, they are the first area to be targeted when infection rates rise. I would guess that is more to do with alcohol consumption causing people to ignore social measures. I would rather they shut pubs and restaurants than schoo...

...ls.

At least there is hope on the horizon with the vaccines being rolled out across the globe! My wife was in City Hospital today for a scheduled appointment (yes they are still doing work other than covid!) and she saw a long line of people waiting to have their coronavirus inoculations. She thought it seemed well organised, let's hope it's the same countrywide.

Aitch.

Hi Aitch of course its important to allow children to have as near normal life as possible  which revolves round education  ,but my argument is hospitality has been closed.in many areas for long periods and yet infection rate still rising ,schools open supermarkets opened ,more  people working from home ,workplaces supposed to be safe ,so I come to the conclusion that the spreader places have to be schools or supermarkets  or both

I also will continue to support Boris he hasn’t got it right all the time as all leaders haven’t, but at least he will do u turns when necessary which some people think is a weakness. I am not stupid just because I’m a Tory supporter and I don’t believe anyone on here is stupid because they oppose him. I am opposed to those people who imply that we are because of our support of him.

He hasn't got it right all the time?

He hasn't got it right *any* of the time.

When Covid 19 was first seen as a threat to the UK he swerved 6 COBRA meetings & sodded off on holiday to the Caribbean.

And any subsequent u-turns have been too late, half-arsed & in direct response to other, better-informed people telling him what he should have been doing for weeks.

On Sunday he said it was vital that schools stay open & there were no plans to close them.

24 hours later he shut them all.

The man is a self-serving idiot whose complete lack of suitability for the role of PM is getting tens of thousands of innocent people killed.

How anyone can defend him or the rest of his clown-car Govt is genuinely beyond me.

Terry is entitled to his opinion as you are.  if you don’t like him or his opinions don’t read them it’s that simple and to say Stans post was excellent, well it sounded like gobblygook to me but that’s my opinion.

So why are you making comment if you don’t like this site, or would you like to have a conversation we’re all views are the same, that would be nice and cosy but it wouldn’t be a debate it would be a one party state, not good in a democratic society.

I just prefer conversing with people who can construct a properly punctuated sentence without obvious spelling mistakes.

Call me old-fashioned if you like, but that's just me.

(It's "where", not "we're.")

Stan Stan this is getting repetitive and boring, we know how much people hate Boris and their views on his handling of the case, no matter who the Tory leader is you would be bashing them, I get that. If you have any better idea on running the country then please put them to the government but come up with something different other than what we know we could have done and something that would work.
